Just make IT work already.

My IT Department Sucks. Our IT team doesn’t know what they’re doing. Why won’t IT listen to me?
This is the anthem of an organization with an IT department that, knowingly or not, has chosen not to partner with you—the line of business that earns revenue, supports customers, protects the company, researches new products, and provides core internal business services. Your choices are to suck it up and develop a coping mechanism or quit.

Right?
Not so fast.

Managing technology used to be reserved for those with advanced technical know-how—computer-whispering—the art of making some magical information technology do what you want it to do. Anything from simply booting a computer correctly while you enjoy morning coffee, to running daily sales reports to understanding how your products and team are performing. The end of that era began with the dot-com revolution, when everything suddenly started to be online, and when “using the computer” became a foundational job function in Fortune 1000 enterprises. It is very likely that your new join in FP&A knows how to write SQL queries to perform the detailed analysis you’ve just asked for.

What causes this?
There’s no simple answer to this question. It could be years of apathetic management in the IT Department, which has developed a culture of “IT for IT” within your organization, resulting in a lack of appropriate tools. That Technology management could be reporting to the wrong Leader within the enterprise, and that Leader may not see the strategic value in Information Systems and Technology, hamstringing an otherwise amazing IT’s ability to deliver what you want due to lack of interest and funding from executive management. Maybe Dave the IT guy just really doesn’t like you, so Marketing suffers. Sorry.

How can we help?
We can help bridge the gap between your organization and the Information Systems and Technology services it should be receiving, and those that are deserved. Our functional assessment of your line of business compared with the services you should be receiving will lay out a framework of opportunities for you and your team to understand. Your goals and priorities will guide our roadmap and portfolio development of Information Systems that will enable, enhance, or economize your business processes. Together, we can develop a roadmap that will highlight the people, processes, and technologies that will elevate your enterprise.
